did you know?

12 Canadians are born every day with a congenital heart defect. It is estimated that 180,000 Canadians are living with a CHD.

Congenital heart defects are the most common birth defect and are the number one cause of death from birth defects during the first year of a child's life. Nearly twice as many children die from congenital heart disease compared with all forms of childhood cancers combined.

Treatment has come a long way and today most children will grow up to lead full, active lives.

Learning that your child has a CHD is a very scary time. Visit unna.cares » resources to view links to support groups and further information that helped bring us some peace of mind when our daughter was diagnosed.
