Learning that your child has a congenital heart defect is a life changing event.

It is our mission to remind families during this difficult time that they are loved, to help make them feel they are receiving a warm hug.

Quilts with Heart gives families and patients hope to hold on to during a difficult time.

what is quilts with heart

Quilts with Heart creates and delivers 100% cotton quilts to the amazing children and their families who require prolonged medical care.

Here at Unna we believe that we can make a difference. We believe that every action we take creates a ripple and we hope that these acts of love, no matter how small, will be passed on and improves the lives of others.

Quilts with Heart was created not only with this belief in mind but also from our very special little girl's ripple.

If you would like to donate a quilt through the Quilts with Heart network then Unna can help. Read below for quilt donation guidelines for quilt donation guidlines and our quilt donation form (PDF).

how you can help

Unna will lovingly accept all donations of finished quilts as well as unused 100% cotton fabric or "orphan" blocks.

Packages of donated fabric are ready for quilters with a little extra time on their hands. Unna will pay shipping to and from your home.

  • 100% cotton fabrics (flannel is included).
  • Machine washing is a necessity.
  • Light loft batting is easier for children to carry and take to testing with them.
  • Please do not hand tie the front and back. All pieces must be securely sewn to eliminate a choking hazard.
  • All sizes are welcome to a maximum of 50" x 55". Children range in age from minutes old to 16 years.
  • Must be made with love.

Please complete our quilt donation form (PDF) and include it with your quilt so we may let you know when your quilt is delivered.

If you have any additional questions or know of a child in need of a quilt please contact Stephanie Kilbride at 403.949.2477 or email Unna at .
